Port is the
physical connection between your computer and its peripheral devices
such as scanners. Currently there are SCSI,
EPP, and USB,
three types of port connections that scanners can be connected to
your computer.
- SCSI
is an acronym for "Small Computer System Interface". This type
of connection requires the use of a SCSI card.
- EPP
is an acronym for "Extended Parallel Port". This type of connection
allows your scanner to be connected via your computer's Printer
Port.
- USB
is an acronym for "Universal Serial Bus". This type of connection
is relative new to the market. Only PCs with Pentium II (w/o MMX)
and the latest iMac are equipped with USB port.
