OCR
|
Abbreviated term for Optical
Character Recognition. 1. Type of software
designed to recognize scanned text characters and convert
them into a format editable in a word processing program,
such as TextBridge Classic. OCR programs use pattern
matching, feature extraction and spell checking to recognize
text characters in a variety of fonts and sizes. See feature
extraction, pattern matching, spell checking and
TextBridge Classic. 2. One of the features of the
Scan Dialog Box, used for recognizing documents. See Scan
Dialog Box.

Internet. 2. The state of a document or picture viewed on a
computer.

A set of commands that
controls the memory management, data storage and operation
of a computer. MS-DOS, Windows, UNIX, Linux and Mac OS are
